Cauliflower: Igloo Organic Seed

Cauliflower: Igloo Organic Seed

100 Organic Igloo Cauliflower Seeds [approx]

Name: Cauliflower: Igloo

Latin Name: Brassica oleracea

Description: Igloo cauliflower is an heirloom cauliflower variety that produces crisp white heads. It is an early variety that does well in cool temperatures. An interesting fact about igloo cauliflower is that it was specially bred so the plants could be sown close together and produce mini cauliflowers. It will also produce full size cauliflower heads.

Seed Origin: Italy

Sowing: March to May

Harvesting: July to October

How To Grow Igloo Cauliflower From Seed: Igloo cauliflower seeds can be started indoors from March to April, by sowing them in seedling modules or small pots. Sow 2-3 seeds per pot/cell. When the seedlings establish, remove the weaker seedlings. Transplant to their final growing area when the risk of frost has passed.

Alternatively, sow directly outside from the end of April onwards. Igloo cauliflower does best in partial shade.

Space the plants 30cm if "mini" cauliflowers are desired.

Harvest from the bottom of the plant with a sharp knife when the heads are hard and fully formed.
