Cucumber: Marketmore Organic Seed

12 Organic Marketmore Cucumber Seeds [approx]

Name: Cucumber: Marketmore

Latin Name: Cucumis sativus

Description: Marketmore Cucumber has a crisp texture and a mild, refreshing flavour. Ideal for salads and pickling, it produces abundant, dark green, straight fruits with a slightly prickly skin. The fruits can grow to be 20 cm long and 5 cm thick. The plants can climb up to 3 metres in height.

Seed Origin: Netherlands

Sowing: March to May

Harvesting: July to September

How To Grow Marketmore Cucumber From Seed: Cucumber Marketmore can be started from seed indoors from March. Using small pots or a seedling module, sow one seed per cell/pot. When the seedlings are established and frost risk has passed, transplant them to their final spot.

Alternatively, sow directly outside from May onwards.

Cucumber enjoys heat and will grow best in a greenhouse/polytunnel. It will also benefit if the vines are supported, this helps the fruits to hang, and grow straight.

Start picking the cucumbers when they become 10-15 centimetres in length. Frequent harvesting will keep the plant productive.
