Latin Name: Thymus serpyllum hort.

Plant Type: Perennial

Plant Height: 5-10 cm

Description: Creeping Thyme is a low-growing, aromatic perennial herb with small, fragrant leaves and clusters of tiny purple/pink flowers. It spreads as a dense ground cover, attracting pollinators and thriving in well-drained, sunny locations. Drought-tolerant and hardy. Also known as Wild Thyme.

Seed Origin: Germany

Sowing: March to June

Harvesting: June to August

How To Grow Creeping Thyme From Seed: Sow indoors from March to April or directly outdoors from May to June. Lightly press seeds into well-drained soil but do not cover, as they need light to germinate. Keep soil moist until germination (14-28 days).

Transplant seedlings when strong enough, spacing 15-20 cm apart in a sunny, well-drained location. Water sparingly once established.

Trim after flowering to maintain shape. Thrives in poor, dry soils and attracts pollinators. Ideal as ground cover or in rock gardens.
